Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire set to leave the club after an agreement was reached between both parties to end his stay in the club after four years at the club.

It is reported that a deal for Maguire’s replacement is now imminent. A proposed 60 million Euro deal for Napoli and South Korea’s Kim Min Jae is edging closer to being agreed upon.

Kim Min Jae has a release clause that was inserted in his contract when Napoli signed him from Fenerbahce for 18.1 million Euros. The clause can be activated between July 1 and July 15.

This deal, if finally goes through, will be a major coup as the South Korean defender has formed into a formidable defender in the Serie A, helping Napoli to win the Scudetto for the first time since the 1989-1990 season (33 years ago).

Kim Min Jae will indeed prove to be the perfect partner with Lisandro Martinez both in the heart of United’s defense for the present and future.

With Maguire set to leave, Raphael Varane already in his 30s and has been battling with niggling injuries, and Victor Lindelof also in his 30s and has been majorly a backup, this deal entirely makes sense.

With Harry Maguire set to leave, the door remains open for more clear outs

Harry Maguire remains the most expensive defender in world football after being bought from Leicester City for a record fee of 80 million Pounds in 2019.

He has gone on to make 118 appearances for United and scored 4 goals since his signature. He won the 2022/2023 Carabao Cup as the captain of Manchester United.

The potential sale of Maguire is one of the massive overhauls of Erik Ten Haag’s side, to create room for more quality players to boost the team ahead of the new campaign.

The loaned players Bailly, Telles, and Dean Henderson will not be in the squad next season.

Van de Beek might be sold to get more minutes elsewhere, while Weghorst won’t be signed permanently.

United still retains an interest in the permanent signing of Marcel Sabitzer, although nothing has been agreed yet with Bayern.
