ABOUT Ahmadu Bello University
Ahmadu Bello University was established and founded back on 4 October 1962 by Ahmadu Bello (past premier of the Northern region). The prestigious institution is located in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The school’s campuses are located both in Samaru and Kongo respectively. For UTME Candidates
- Candidates must have first reached the age of 16+ before considering applying for admission to ABU.

- Candidates must score at least 180 in the JAMB UTME, with ABU being their first choice of study.
- Candidates must participate in the ABU Post UTME screening exercise.
For Direct Entry Candidates
- You must have 5 credits in your O’level result, including English and Mathematics, in no more than two sittings.
- Candidates are advised to purchase the ABU direct entry form via JAMB or ABU portal.
- You must have either First Class or Second Class in related fields for university candidates. Whereas for polytechnic, Upper Credit is accepted.
- For National Certificate of Education (NCE) and National Diploma (ND) holders, a minimum Merit Pass is accepted by the institution depending on the field.
- ABU also accepts JUPEB and IJMB A’level results but it depends.
